The Violent Hypocrisy of the Left

Every time someone uses violence against individuals to make a political statement, it is wrong. When the Left does it, however, all is quickly forgiven and inevitably blamed on the Right.

Michelle Malkin has put together an encyclopedic list of violent hate crimes and hate speech performed by leftists, many of which were ignored by our intrepid media outlets, and the rest of which were blamed on the Right.

As Screwtape advised young Wormwood:

Your patient must demand that all his own utterances are to be taken at their face value and judged simply on the actual words, while at the same time judging all [others'] utterances with the fullest and most oversensitive interpretation of the tone and context of the suspected intention.

Yeah, the Right has had its whackjobs. I’m not denying that. But the next time your leftist friends, family, and co-workers try to pin all violent political acts on the Right, send them this list and remind them where the majority of violence and hatred is truly coming from.

Liberalism is the Author of Death

Liberalism can rightly be called the Author of Death. Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, now Jared Loughner.

Oh, what did you say? You believed everything the left-stream media was saying about it being Palin’s fault?

Please reconsider.

First Lady Declares War On School Bake Sales

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any nuttier over there in the Devil’s Cathouse, we now see the First Lady gearing up to ban tasty bake sale treats.

Some parents say they are perplexed by what the new rules might allow.

In Seminole, Fla., the Seminole High Warhawks Marching Band’s booster club held a bake sale to help send the band’s 173 members to this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York. One of the bake sale’s specialties: New York-style cheesecake, an homage to the destination they’d pursued for 10 years.

“Limiting bake sales is so narrow-minded,” said Laura Shortway, whose 17-year-old daughter, Mallory, is a drummer in the band. “Having bake sales keeps these fundraisers community based, which is very appealing to the person making the purchase.”

My new favorite conservative author – Robin of Berkeley

The pseudonym “Robin of Berkeley” has a very Robin Hood-esque feel to it. And as far as fugitives from the leftist sphere of thinking go, Robin is very much like Robin Hood–one who fights against the powerful on behalf of the oppressed. She’s also, possibly literally, one-in-a-million. Having once been a radical feminist who attended pro-choice rallies and anti-war demonstrations, she came to the realization that people she once shared that common bond with weren’t thinking for themselves when they began participating in Obamamania.

So, Robin did the only thing a thinking person can do. She defected to the conservatives. She realized that what she had been fighting against all those years was actually not what she was told it was by her liberal peers.  She began foraging in her local community near Berkeley for other conservatives and didn’t find very many. Over the past 2 years, though, she has found a supportive network of real conservatives…as well as a promising voice on AmericanThinker.com.

I’m just discovering her writing, but I was instantly a fan when I read these posts today:

Robin, please don’t stop writing. We the People need you.

Sarah Palin: Wrong prescription for America?

Sarah Palin, do you guys really like her?”

My dad’s doctor asked me this a couple of weeks ago. His smile seemed to shout, “Are you guys crazy?” I had taken my 94-year-old Republican father to see him several times, but politics never came up. Did the doc really want to go there? It went something like this:

“What’s the problem with her?” I said.

“Well, she’s, she’s –”

“Stupid?”

“All right.”

“Really? Why, because she isn’t as glib or articulate as you elites like? She didn’t answer Katie Couric or Charlie Gibson the way President Obama would have?”
